    "Fan" is a shortened version of "Fanatic"; and that word can take you places where civilized behavior is nowhere to be seen.

    Green isn’t the first and definitely won’t be the last who had this happen to him, just others off the top of my head that went through the same:

    At least Green’s team came back and won the series the following game.

    That young Colombian soccer player was murdered after he scored an own goal in the World Cup. Makes fans who throw batteries and snowballs at Santa look like angels.
