[CLOSED] "Win LordM's Loot" Giveaway #8 (aka CoinTalk Giveaway #45)
Random drawing will be held sometime in early November.
UPDATE: THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED. @Testoon won the drawing.
Winner will receive a $25 credit from my swapstock inventory, plus free shipping.
*Note: that page can be very slow to load sometimes, so allow it several seconds. Free worldwide shipping is included- there are no strings attached and no purchase is necessary. Coins are, however, subject to prior sale before the drawing ends, so keep an eye on the list, which will evolve as I add new stuff and take away sold stuff.
To enter:
See the giveaway thread on CoinTalk for full details.
You do NOT need to be a CoinTalk member or have the ability to post over there in order to be eligible.
If you ARE a CoinTalk member, you may post a second entry over there to double your chances. (It is helpful if you tell me who you are, when your CT username is different from your CU username- just so I'll know.)
To enter over here, include the words "entry post" in your initial post to this thread - and only your first post. You may reply as many times as you like, but only one eligible entry post per member (see exception above). I will tally all the entries from here over on the CoinTalk thread.
Post something else other than just the words "entry post". Whatever you like- preferably coin-related in some way. (Pet pix are always fun, too.)
Winners will be selected via random drawing, which will be announced on the CoinTalk thread later (and winners from CU will be notified via private message here).

The next coin I am going to purchase is this 100 Euro beauty directly from the German Mint. I like to get them first when they are released instead of going through third party. My concern is that the more hands it goes through, there will be more wear and tear on the original government packaging and paperwork. I like to keep all that MINT.

Sorry LM, I thought a second posting can include something about coins. I did not know the "entry post" should already have something coin related.

No worries. The reason for the additional content rule comes from the CoinTalk side, where all contests have to be coin-related.
Besides, opening the thread up to random, "anything goes" coin-related topics is kind of fun anyway.
Entry post. Thanks for making this giveaway. Your coins look cool!
Entry post. A nice selection in your inventory - the large cents appeal to me, but I'd have to think about some of the others as well!
Thanks for the giveaway!

For the rest of you, note that this father/son combo each posted one entry on each of the two forums, thereby making four chances that someone in that household is going to win the drawing!
That's a legit play, and sound strategy. Any of the rest of you who have CoinTalk credentials may post one entry over there and one here, to double your chances.
I'll rely on the honor system to assume that nobody will post entries under sock-puppet alternate IDs. We check for those and ban people for that on CoinTalk, in any event.
One entry per individual per forum.

I'm new to the coin collecting hobby but am learning pretty quick. My dad left me about 50 capped bust half dollar coins almost a complete collection of years (not all overton types but many dates have more than one), Morgans, Flying Eagles and a bunch of other coins and unopened rolls and that's how I got started. But for the pet pic. here's my dog Buddy or as we call him Pierogi Boy.
Entry Post. Love obsolete denominations. The 2 cent was the one I really wanted when I started collecting.

I'm basically a newbie but I have a somewhat large collection given to me by family and some friends. If I won I would get the copper-nickel 3 cent piece... I love the idea of 3 cents rather than 1, I'm not sure why. Anyway, thanks for the giveaway!

Lord, how I loathe the Markdown language this new forum uses- putting the "number" or "pound" symbol in here did all kinds of weird stuff with the formatting, so I had to take those symbols out. Funny how it didn't do that in my earlier post(s).
But I digress.

Something coin-related (marginally): I am taking a psychology course, and I am learning about a process called "encoding failure"--the inability to remember details because they were never committed to memory in the first place. The example my textbook gave showed a grid of Lincoln cents and asked the reader to pick out which one had the correct design. Naturally, I picked out the "correct" penny, but I realized that people who don't devote conscious attention to coins (the majority of people) would probably have no idea. Likewise, there are so many things that each of us have no memory of due to lack of interest or necessity. What did you eat for breakfast 12 days ago? Anyways, thought that was interesting.
Entry post. My new purchase then off to our host.

What do you guys think about the mint having both designs for the ASE in 2021? I think they should just keep to one. Why change if you aren't really going to change?
