It bugs me I had to add five mintstate Ikes to my LowBall set to reach the top three.

I wish it wasn't that way, yet it is. I have to play by the rules presented to me. So, to obtain a top-three spot
in the Ike LowBall Registry I added five Mint State coins. Now the hunt is on to replace those coins with circulated
examples.
In the meantime my set is sad.

Why are the coins in your set and not raw in your pocket?

I know you're being a bit facetious, yet actually, that is a good point! Even a few days in my pockets would perhaps get these low mint state coins into the AU category.

I had to go see, but no pics :(

why do they require the 40% but not the proofs?

Lowball sets should have the same rules as Everyman sets. No MS coins. :#

Yet again - another PCGS oversight they care not to address/correct/fix - whatever.

I've been goingbyhrough $500 of circ ikes....raw, of course......what ones did you have to do as mint state instead of submitting raw, circ, examples yourself ?

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • Quantity is weighted, not quality... The system should have been designed with more credit given the lower the grade in the Low Ball category. I recommended this to David Talk when he was still in charge; a system which invites all different levels to participate, but does not exclude anyone. In the Low Ball series if you have higher graded coins filling slots OK, but points should be added/Deducted to "Handicap" your position in the rankings so true Low Ball sets with only Low Ball coins are in the running...

    congrats on your 25K milestone

Thank you, I hadn't noticed until you mentioned it.

Yes on the casinos. Not sure on the other countries. I do recall that the small dollars were sent down south to some south american country for use, but hadn't heard about Ikes doing the same anywhere.

    73-P and D
    76-P Type one.
I do have a couple of these after scouring eBay over the last few months that are problem free low grade. I just need to get off my lazy butt and submit them.
