Love gambling stories. Here's an old one:

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Casino owner Bob Stupak won a $1 million bet Sunday, possibly the largest wager in the history of legal Nevada bookmaking, when the San Francisco 49ers defeated the Cincinnati Bengals by only 4 points in the Super Bowl, officials said.

Stupak, owner of Vegas World, bet on the Bengals at Little Caesars Gambling Casino on the Las Vegas Strip at mid-morning several hours before kickoff.

Little Caesars gave minus 7 points on the 49ers and plus 7 points on the Bengals. Stupak would have lost if the San Francisco 49ers had won by 8 points or more. Since, they won by only 20-16, he won his bet.

Little Caesars owner Gene Maday said Stupak walked into the establishment, not to be confused with Caesars Palace Hotel, carrying two suitcases filled with cash. Stupak bet $1,050,000 to win $1 million on the Bengals, which means he gets back his original wager plus the $1 million win.

'To my knowledge this is the largest single legitimate bet ever booked,' said Maday. 'Oh, yes we have the money to cover it. He will be paid Monday, if he comes in that soon.'

Maday said Stupak told him he tried to place the $1 million bet Sunday at several major Las Vegas sports books, but was turned away.
