I finally won a lot this week. And, it's a type (Hiberno-Norse with Sihtric and Dublin legible in the legends) that I've been after for a while. I paid a little bit more than I wanted, but under the current circumstances I feel lucky to have gotten it at this price level. I bid on, and got blown away, on several other lots already.

Ireland, Hiberno-Scandinavian, Phase II, Penny, series A, in imitation of the Long Cross type of Æthelred II, with the name of Sihtric and an unblundered rev. legend, sihtric re+ dyflm, cross pattée behind bust, rev.færemin mio dyfli, pellet in each angle, 1.38g/1h (SCBI Copenhagen 58 and Ulster 50, same dies; SCBI BM 65 var.; S 6122; DF 23). Extremely fine and well-struck, attractive light toning

How does one get a hater to stop hating?
