Selling Question

What auction house is easy to work with and may negotiate on the selling fees for a single coin?

I recently had someone drop off a coin to me and they are wanting to move it fairly quick.
It is a 60's full step nickel that shows 20K on the PCGS price guide but in NGC plastic, the NGC site doesn't show a price.
I think a FS nickel in this price range would be a slow sell without the right exposure.
I don't have anything right now that I would want to send with it.
Ebay is not a good option, they don't want to wait to see if it sells and they don't want to start it at 99 cents and let it fly.

Thank you in advance for your replies. :)

Fairy quick is going to be your problem. GC should have the coin sold within 2 weeks. I don’t know how long they take to pay though. They have told me in the past, once they get it, the coin is listed the next Monday and 13 days later it is sold.

Hope this helps. Someone on here will know their speed on settlements.

Heritage is having a huge coin auction this month but I don’t know if it is too late to submit to them since the coins are already available for viewing online.
    Good luck
    Dave

@Dscoin Thank you for the reply! Everyone wants it now but they will just have to wait. If it takes 30 days....it takes 30 days :)

I would do a 10 day auction on eBay, advertise it on here too.
I've had bad experiences with GC so I would not recommend them.
Heritage would be the best venue but doubt you'd get the job done within 30 days (sent, listed, sold, and paid). Probably not even 60 but I'm not sure.

@jclovescoins Thanks for the reply! :)

If Heritage would be the best venue to get the best money I don't care if it takes 3 months.....not my coin.....not my money.
If I can get them the most $$$$ that is all I care about.

I would say definitely the most money with Heritage and ask for a part of the buyer’s premium. It should be no sellers fee and you should be able to get maybe 2-5% of the buyers premium if the coin is actually worth 20K
