Panini Mosaic the new Panini Prizm

I was trying to figure out if Panini is still coming out with Panini Prizm? I see the Panini Prizm Draft is out but I can’t see a release date for the regular Panini Prizm. Is Panini Mosaic taking the place of Panini Prizm? Thank you for your expertise!

Yes for football. That was what I was wondering because on the Panini website They never mentioned Panini Prizm at all for a release. I was trying to figure out when I should start looking for them. I thought they came out at the end of October or beginning of November last year.

Donruss used to be the first football product I splurged on. Last year Panini raised the price a little bit and reduced the pack count from 24 to 18. This year it came out at over $200 per box. This is a product that was around $100 or less in previous years. My first order was usually 1/2 case and then I bought more until Optic hit, this year 2 boxes and I'm done.

I am really concerned what Optic and Prizm will come out at. I'll set the over under for Prizm at $350 and Optic $300. Are there really that many collectors and breakers paying that much for what I consider base-mid premium products? I spend big on Optic every year and I don't think I will be able to do it this year. I can't justify a car down payment just to rip packs.

According to the Panini web site, there's no Panini Prizm product coming out this fall.

It says there will be a Mosaic and Mosaic Series 2 product.

Panini Gold Standard was a horribly designed product. Worst Panini product I've ever seen.

Their 2020 Donruss design is no bueno. It looks like the terribly designed 1991 Donruss baseball.

    Enjoy your collection!

I had been wondering about this also. Never could find a release date for 2020 NFL panini prizm.
Looks like Mosaic and Mosaic series 2 replaces prizm.
At any rate, looks like the makings of a good set as these are the first 7 cards of 2020 mosaic.

    Patrick Mahomes II
    QB - Kansas City Chiefs

    2
    Tony Gonzalez
    TE - Kansas City Chiefs

    3
    Len Dawson
    QB - Kansas City Chiefs

    4
    Travis Kelce
    TE - Kansas City Chiefs

    5
    Tyreek Hill
    WR - Kansas City Chiefs

    6
    Tyrann Mathieu
    S - Kansas City Chiefs

    7
    Chris Jones
    DT - Kansas City Chiefs

The mosaic rookies start with card #201 with Joe Burrow.

So I guess my next question is which one will have the rookies?

Me too! That’s crazy. I’ll wait until they come back down. Or find another set.

flippers and breakers moved from basketball to football. wait til end of the season and prices will drop dramatically.

mosaic b-ball has pretty much been an overwhelming success. being a quasi-first year product, it'd be a good product to shelf and sit on, imo. once the prices drop, naturally. clean solid design, imo. parallels look good.

So Mosaic does not replace Prizm?
Funny how panini did not announce a release date for prizm until after the mosaic
    product was already released.
Well I wasn't the only one fooled, a lot of sellers on ebay were saying mosaic was replacing prizm.

This mean Optic will be at around $800+. You used to be able to get retail to at least get rookies but now even that is being vacuumed up.

  • Its garbage. There is absolutely nothing to hit in these over priced boxes. The Zion madness has spread to all sports. Everybody want the next top rookie. Panini is pumping out more garbage after garbage and the people are eating it up. Prizm FB will be over $1000/box.

I miss the days of bitching about shitty blasters. Now you cant even find them. The current state of the card market cant be good for new collectors. They are nearly priced out of everything besides the Score fat packs. I hate it!

I opened a few $200+ 2020 Donruss Football Box. The value per box was the same as before when it was a sub $100 product. The best rookie auto I got was Joshua Kelley. The other auto was Ricky Watters, an above average 1990's RB.

Retail was my little escape for the past few years but even that is now gone. The supply can't be less, I wonder if the hobby is being played again by the distributors.

Feels like 1990-91 all over again to me. Oh, how I hoarded those Upper Deck Jaromir Jagr and Mark Recchi rookie cards...and the Kevin Maas...

I know that the brand isn't for everyone but 2020 Leaf Trinity is coming out this week. I buy this product every year to open because 5 Rookie Autos per box for less than $150 is a great value under today's economics. The Patch Autograph quality is on par with any of the top Panini Products. You actually have a chance to outperform the cost of the box.
