Who has a gold $20 overstruck Liberty with the CSA reverse that Dan Carr struck ?

Pictures?

Good luck on that one - very tough to find and tougher yet to figure a price. I am guessing that the brass would likely bring several hundred, and quite a ways up to the gold.

I know where a couple of overstrikes are, but they are in pretty strong hands - I think it might take above 5k to shake them & even then sort of doubt it.

Wow, those have done very well! I sure wish I would have known about them back when they were released.

Good luck, I am still on the prowl for the '27 Oregon myself. I did manage the '64 Franklin with the help of the BST

IMO, these are about equal and at the top of all DC issues: the Oregon Trail and actual overstruck 1861 Confederate $20. Sorry I could not help on the latter as even 5k would not shake it from the owner....

With such strong demand, maybe time to start up the press and make some more?

Please do not for those that have. Maybe another completely different design. I did not like him doing the 1964 Peace dollar again, bad precedent.

That would kill the second hand market on these. Maybe with a mark signifying the second run?
