Quad Doubles. Cool find. Probably not worth a whole lot, depending on condition, but definitely a keeper.

    What happened to the 3s?

11223344 would be better. Is that a "double half-ladder"? ;)

nice find indeed. its still a catch :)

  • New to currency collecting,
I especially like fancy serial #'s and error notes.
I received several $5 bills from a casino atm and took a quick glance at them all before The Slots were calling my name, lol. The familiarity of one of the bills serial # kept flashing in my mind. So I decided to take a better look.
Even tho the years are reversed, I feel Iike I hit a mini jackpot. MK19761776C
Any ideas/opinions on whether I should keep, spend, or sell it would be most indubitably appreciated.

    Thank U So Very Much,

@JadedSmyle4U Banknote numbers order drive some collectors crazy! Lots of eights mean good luck. If it's CU, all the better to slide it in a sleeve. Have fun. Peace Roy

Some would pay a small premium for it and some would just spend it. Is the premium worth the time, effort, fees and charges involved in getting a premium for it?

    • I agree (& doubt there would be any real premium for these serial numbers). Fancy serial numbers are just _fancy _ to the owner who has the note in hand. Unlike special serial numbers (radars, repeaters, rotators or Low SN) the number's "beauty is in the eye of the beholder," & typically eludes me (in terms of appeal). Most collectors want their special serial numbers in high grade too.

-I would be spending (or exchanging) these $5 banknotes unless they were UNC (or were from older small headed series).
