Mark me skeptical. Seems like a good time & opportunity for the powers that be to push that "gold" label and try to garner some of that blowback business from what seems to be the imploding bvg/bgs company.

If they show their label can fetch $420k, it's gonna turn some heads and generate a ton of subs fees. Certainly wouldn't take many to recoup the buyers premium.

It's also pretty apparent that SGC is fetching a little more modern business simply due to the quickest turnaround times, but as for this particular card and the 420 price tag, I would think someone would have to be really high to believe it.

Exactly. You can get a PSA 10 for 70k. As if an SGC 10 is worth a 6x premium.

Just more hobby bs, nothing to see here.

Before I even looked, my first thought was "Is this through Heritage?"

ETA: Look at the T&Cs of their auctions closely.

So would you rather have the only SGC Pristine (currently), or 6 PSA 10’s for the same amount of money. Maybe 7 PSA 10’s if the SGC has to add 20% buyer premium.

I can see that in a regular SGC 10 -- but Pristine I'm not buying. Give me the 6 or 7 PSA 10's for the same money...

No way I pay 6x the amount of a PSA 10. I like SGC but it’s been proven time and time again PSA cards sell for more in the same grade. Modern or Vintage. I’d rather have 35 PSA 9’s than that one card.

I am usually not good at seeing centering issues (darn, 50 year old eyes), but there is clearly more white on the left border on the back of the card. I know every grading company has their issues, but I am shocked that SGC would want this card to be an example of their PRISTINE designation.

looks to me that there is a small touch on the bottom right corner.

Nice front centering. Wonder what Beckett would grade the edges. Seem a bit rough.

That is a great looking MJ but you could put together an absolutely incredible collection of his cards for 350K.
