1776 dated Spanish 8 reales. PCGS XF40.
Pop. 2, none finer. Great original color.
The other 40 looks dipped. So this may be the finest known.
Yes, this is a foreign coin but it’s of the type that circulated in early America. The Spanish financed the Battle of Yorktown.
