Is there anything I can do with this 31-s Lincoln Cent?

Not sure if it’s environmental damage, spotting from an old cleaning or something else? My assumption is trying to dip or remove will either not work or make it worse. Leave as is?

Unfortunate, really well struck coin.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Maybe you could try to sell it and let someone else worry about dipping it.... Just a thought.
I like that idea. Don’t forget to give it an acetone bath after the MS-70 treatment. Personally I think it’ll do the trick although I’ve never used the stuff I’ve heard from fellow collectors it works pretty good at getting the dirt and crud off of the surfaces. Good luck and sure would like to see the results.
Great strike on that one👌
Looking at the photos I doubt very much that any method or "cleaner" will have a positive effect. Maybe an oil bath but that would be the most aggressive method I would try, and even then I think the surfaces will show the damage if your are successful in removing the crud.

Thank you for all the responses so far. I’ve personally never tried To dip or clean any coin before as I like them as original as possible. This one is well struck was thinking about trying to sell as is but not sure what it would bring and would hate to ruin the coin any further with an inexperienced cleaning.
