Tough year because of the black borders of course. Some of the HOFers in a PSA 8 can still be had at around $100. Very surprising. Any unopened is rare and would be very expensive. Discuss.
Terry Bradshaw was AMAZING!!

so far psa has graded 90 wax packs and 21 cello packs from this year, i have seen lots of 1971 in rack, vending, and gai holders which arent accounted for on the psa pack population.
not sure if its rare or if people are just holding it and not letting it go to market.
1969 has about the same amount of total wax/cello packs graded on the psa population but for some reason they seem easier to find for sale.
One of my favorite years to collect. A lot of greats from the mid 50s through the end of the 60s are in the set. 70s hall of very good players as well (Concepcion, Blue, Garvey, Munson etc). In my opinion, nothing presents better than a well-centered 71 with clean edges and borders. Lots of challenges with collecting this set in NM condition - premium costs for the short prints, prevalent trimming and recoloring, etc that make it frustrating and fun.
I think it is. I have always like that set.
I collect hall of fame rookie cards, https://www.instagram.com/stwainfan/
My favorite boyhood set, so I have a soft spot for it. I always think what I like is undervalued. That aside, there are cards in the last two series that are definitely undervalued in better condition. Not the 8+ range but definitely 6+. The graders are just brutal on the dark borders, so there are some gorgeous 6's out there.
