Coin and Currency Institute "Library of Coins" albums

Asking if anyone has ever used these vintage albums with the clear windows that allow one to see both sides of the coins, similar to the Whitman Deluxe coin albums. Mostly asking about how inert the material is, and what effect it might have on coins' surfaces. I have occasionally had issues with older Whitman Deluxe albums tinting my mint state coins with a bluish color, but those albums have never bothered my circulated coins.

I just bought one of these "Library of Coins" albums (it has a 1959 copyright date!) to house my Barber Halves, keep in mind that my halves are all lower-grade coins, G-VG mostly. Thanks.

It will look really nice as a low grade matched set in one of those old albums. I wouldn't have any concerns with G-VG Barber Halves in a Library of Coins album.

I would imagine in an album that old, little toning from the album is going to take place.

Thanks very much for your input. I kinda thought I would be OK, but I wanted to check in with anyone using one of these albums before. I never paid these much attention before, but it is a kind of inexpensive handsome album to put these in.

It will look great and have a natural look with the Barbers if the coins aren't cleaned.

I think they are far superior to Whitman. And I wouldn't be concerned with any toning issues.

I have a bunch of MS walkers in one, and haven’t noticed anything different after a few years.

MS66 taste on an MS63 budget.

I used Library of Coins albums many years ago and had no problems with them. The albums were in print from the late 1950s until about 1982. They were typically sold by department store coin and stamp departments and by some other coin dealers. Their distribution network was not nearly as wide as that of the Whitman albums of their era. They were very well made and were somewhat more expensive than the Whitman albums.

    All glory is fleeting.

I collect them and fill some of the more general ones (Jeffs, Roosies, post-35 Lincolns. Relatively inert . . . .and among my favorite albums throughout history . . . .
