I have a question about a 1979 U.S. 5 cent Jefferson's mint mark.

Trying to locate another and I found one but...
Are the mint marks where the star always is placed, between LIBERTY and 1979 ?
This is just strange to me.
In hand , on a whole, the coin looks like crap. BUT ?

No. The mm is always to the right of the date starting in 1968. In addition, the P mm for Philadelphia wasn't used on nickels until 1980. Your coin looks like it's just beaten up,
Researching with what I have on hand, I found this.
Now I'm on alert about these 79's.
Should I be ?
No.
The worn dies can cause the star to look like a dot. Add the circulation wear and tear, hits etc, and it's nothing special.
I agree with what @Oldhoopster has said.
Thanks guys,
Now I can go about my other assignments.
