I'm New to So-Called Dollar Collecting

MWallaceMWallace Posts: 4,146 ✭✭✭✭✭

I've developed an interest in So-Called Dollars so I have added a few to my coin collection. I'm sure these won't be my last. My interest in SCD's is primarily in one's that are coin related or have some historical significance.

    Congratulations

I manage money. I earn money. I save money .
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.

I suggest you study the catalogue and find a direction you'd like your "collection" to take. :)

I inherited an HK-19 from my Great Grandparents who obtained it at the fair in 1876. I've had it for maybe 30 years or so and didn't know what to do with it and as it turns out the kids have no interest. Made of Nevada Silver and the only .999 silver HK that I know about. I finally decided to do something with it and pass it along. Just got it graded as MS61 at PCGS, of course, and have sent to GC for sale. Don't have any info on sale date.
I have a newspaper from 1955 or so in which my Great Aunt spoke about it in an interview with a Reno reporter. Just a forgotten piece of family history that someone else will now get to own after 144 years in my family....sorry no pics.

    bob :)
PS: love the Pony Express issues.

    Welcome to the club :)

So-Called Dollars are a lot of fun and addictive!

    Those are some nice ones.

I like how Abe Kosoff was involved with the Monetary Unity pieces.
