    https://www.greatcollections.com/

They will auction but a great place to start. You can look at coins over there without bidding if you want.

I've done business with all of the sites below and can attest to their professionalism, quality and great customer service:

    1. Great Collections
    2. Heritage
    3. Stacks and Bowers
    4. Larry Shapiro Rare Coins
    5. David Lawrence Rare Coins
    6. Northeast Numismatics
    7. Coast to Coast Coin
    8. Northern Nevada Coin
    9. Liberty Coin
    10. Executive Coin

One cannot beat ebay for availability and selection but caveat emptor.

My biggest piece of advice from personal experience, buy graded coins (PCGS, NGC) if you are searching for higher end stuff.

As a matter of fact, while typing this reply, my Coast to Coast shipment arrived. Perfect timing!

Thanks @Landon6. To be honest, it is not boring or common. In fact, the 1879-CC is considered a "key date" in the Morgan series. By key date, we mean it is rare and difficult to obtain. The Carson City Mint in Nevada only produced silver dollars from 1878 to 1893 and for three of those years (86 - 88) , they did not mint any Morgans. Coins from Carson City are generally sought after because they were minted in low numbers and have the "wild west" appeal.

What makes a coin rare? To start with, "only" 756,000 were minted to begin with which is a very small number by Morgan minting standards. Of these, most were thought to have been melted down before they were every circulated. The "Capped CC" or Capped Die on the label indicates the versions in which the mint tried to remove the small CC mint mark and press over it with the preferred large CC.

Here is a picture I took in front of the Carson City Mint in June. It is now the Nevada State Museum with many excellent exhibits including the original coin press #1 seen below. If you are ever in the Reno area, it would be a great stop on your coin education tour:

@Landon6 This comment of yours "i like that i dont really care if there common i just love how they look" is a GREAT emotion to have about coins. I agree 110% ... which is why I spend an inordinate amount of time just looking at coins on various websites. :)

PS: As long as you continue to agree with your comment, you will remain interested in collecting coins.
