Got nothing else to do.
We'll start with the first ever issue.

Perkdog brought this one to my attention in a thread about hardest hitters a few months back. I love this cover.
The comeback.
A couple of my faves, for different reasons
@LarkinCollector, I knew it was only a matter of time before a swimsuit cover appeared on this thread. 😂😂😂😂
You're welcome!
😂 I'm sure they'll be more swimsuit covers to follow, heck this thread will probably turn into porn.
Absolutely love this one.
John Hannah.
Love this image of Larry Bird.
Joe Namath.
When men were men and they didn’t let a flu scare them.
"I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted.
I thought for sure @galaxy27 would be drooling over that one by now.
I'm drooling just over the text. 😳
😂😂😂😂 You guys are too much.
Aside from some Swimsuit Issues this is my favorite
Paul made me say it. He's a bad influence on everybody here with his "Perkies" girls, etc.
I've got a few. I actually have this one.
Not this particular one, it was just easier to yahoo(not google) a pic of it.
When we were kids my brothers and I at one point hung a bunch of SI covers
on our bedroom wall and this was one of them. Oldest brother pointed out what Csonka was doing with his middle finger.
I still have this edition of SI. Again pic is just a representative photo.
always looked forward to the new SI each week.
i remember asking a buddy, "hey who is on this week's cover?"
"i don't know........some guy with a rubber arm."
(clearly he wasn't a baseball fan)
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
When this cover came out I was a huge fan of both the Pirates and Royals
and did not want them to meet in the world series.
don't worry i got a stiffy
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
If there had ever been an SI cover with Willie Stargell and George Brett
pictured together it would have been the best of all time in my book by far.
The cover with Brett and Schmidt is nowhere near as good as a
cover with Brett and Stargell would have been.
George could have posed with someone his equal instead of having someone of Schmidt's inferior level.
In my opinion the best SI swimsuit model of all time.
Not the first time I’ve been accused of being a bad influence 😅
I am going to have to respectfully disagree there, Brett was great and I believe he is up there,,,,but Schmidt was just as feared as a hitter and a much better defensive 3B. Heck, a significant number of publications, sites, etc. list him as the best at the position ever.
I’m almost right there with ya, I absolutely Loved Rachel Hunter though and she was my #1
I love this one of the great Jim Brown.
Another Jim Brown.
The Splendid Splinter.
I remember this one very well. One of my brothers claimed Joe Frazier
was tripping Ali in this photo.
Remember this one very well also and is a personal favorite.
I'm not a Reggie fan but I always thought this was a really cool photo.
I always love the way his legs look all twisted up when he swings.
Eddie Mathews.....one of the all-time greats!
I think this photo is nothing short of a work of art. The 1970's, the White Sox under Bill Veeck, and Dick Allen all perfectly captured in a single picture.
.
And I had a huge crush on Tracy Austin, who is just a little older than me.
tsk, tsk, tsk
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
Terry Bradshaw was AMAZING!!
Ignore list -Basebal21
Double D must not have had is coffee and fruit nicorette gum yet when he posted this thread 🤷♂️😂
Another classic
This one is funny
another public apology to Joe is definitely in order!
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
Oh no! I forgot Joe again!
Dear Joe,
This is the second time this month I have forgot about you in a thread. The first time it was the nicknames thread, and now the Sports Illustrated covers thread. I will now begin the slapping myself around process.
Your ex-buddy,
Double D
Here you go Joe, I'll make up for it.
This is Sports Illustrated for kids, but it has an awesome cover of Reggie White with a terminator claw. The reason I love this issue is because it came with a sheet of cards inside and one of the cards on the sheet is Joe Louis.
The ups and downs of being a high draft pick
Bobby Orr. Check out the nose, one tough dude!
