I'd take the 1.45 million in cash....

I have to much S**t; so if you working on sets or are a player/team collector, send me your want list, with conditions desired. Keep in mind I have a another job so please allow me a few days to respond.
ok.. i guess the reserve was $3M... now the card is sold with juice is around $3.8M. That's such a disappointment I thought it would at least sold for $10M. LOL
The consignor wanted his Trout to be the most expensive baseball card ever sold, well done. His Trout just broke the $3.12M (I think) record of a t206 Wagner.
I'd like proof that the card was paid for and a new owner has taken possession of the card.
As a dealer my entire adult life (and before I was an adult) I'm always asked my opinions on the investment potential of cards. My official answer from now on should be, "bruh, I don't even know anymore." Just gonna enjoy the ride and see where this takes us.
looks like it was. considering, i'd give this a 50/50 shot it was legit, even though goldin scours the message boards and will prolly be here shortly to shout from the roof tops that it was. kinda like the last orange refractor he just sold which was basically the set up for this sale.

Percentage wise at least, the rapid appreciation and increase in card values leaves coins in the dust over the past decade or so.

Insane.
Who would rather have this card over a sealed case of 86-87F BkB?
I would - However if I had a hobby budget that high would be buying something different than either.
I would rather the 1986 Fleer basketball case.

i am ok with my psa 9
to bad the card only graded a bgs 9. i would have sent it to psa.
Good to see some modern hitting the high prices.
Price should hold as long as no other cases surface.
Worthless green paper.
I just looked, and the Trout is now at $3M with the BP, and the auction is still going.
Also, get this.....the auction says "Reserve Not Met" on it!!!!!

Unbelievable.
Terry Bradshaw was AMAZING!!
Ohio State Buckeyes - National Champions
I don't think the consignor has any intention to sell the card, it is just a promotion thing to hype with the auction house.

What was the winning bid for the Trout card?
$3.84 million
Impressive
Not bad for being the second best guy on his team now!

I wonder if the guy that bought it had to make sure he’s the one that picked up the mail on delivery day instead of his wife.
Maybe that’s just me.
Tough to believe anything tha he's involved it.
I don't think Vegas Dave is married!
Bazinga.
You could buy a top 10 US coin for that type of scratch.

True. But a coin can't hit a Home run.
