Can anyone help me identify this oddball coin ?

I've had this laying in a box for 45 or 50 years. I have no idea what it is, or even how to orient the photo. It appears to be silver.
Thanks for the help !

Hmmmmm. Looks like an Abbasid Dirham, but I'm not sure exactly. Someone else should be of more help

    Thanks Ken.
I googled some pictures of that and I think you nailed it. Possibly 771 AD.
    Interesting......Thanks !

I read the Islamic AH year to be 152 (AD 769-770) during the reign of the Abbasid Caliph Al-Mansur.

I have a similar coin from AH 158 but with Caliph al-Mahdi.

@thebeav I've got boxes like that in my basement. Treasures to be found makes breaking them down an adventure. Have a good day. Peace Roy

Why don't I ever find anything that is 1200+ years old in my junk box! :(
