OMLB Selig ball w/Berra & ?

LarkinCollectorLarkinCollector Posts: 8,975 ✭✭✭✭✭

Seems like this should be pretty easy to figure out, but I'm still having trouble. Top signature appears to be Yogi Berra and the next looks like J Alonheros 52, but my searches are coming up empty. Any confirmation on Berra or clue on the 2nd sig?

Ball was found in a random tub of stuff from an Indiana guy, but looks like he collected a hodgepodge of stuff from all over.

    Could it be Jose Contreras?

    Definitely Jose Contreras.

And yes, that is Yogi's signature.

Thanks! With those two together, I'll have to guess this was done in 2003-2004.

ETA: Why couldn't it have been Mariano or someone relevant? :D

Or just Berra on the sweet spot? ;)

Actually, I think by then YB was charging big bucks for a ball. Maybe this one was done at an event of some kind.

Don't know why, but I was getting a spring training vibe from the ball. The market shall decide on this one as I just started it @ $0.99 on eBay. It's such an unusual combo, I'll either end up really pleased or disappointed, but will be happy regardless if I can finish clearing out another tub of silly purchases and regain some space.
