    it’s like 2016 all over again, both election years! 400-500 % gain over night...very strange.

    Lew Alcindor's rc has done remarkable things.

    Lebron '19 prizm base card.

    Insane what this card has done, is currently doing & will continue to do.

    I think it is nice to see star base cards be appreciated once again.

    I can remember the fun of pulling a Ryan or Henderson back in the 70/80's. Now it is Trout in baseball or Lebron in basketball. Good for the hobby IMHO.

    So I am curious; If you held some of these cards and others that have blown up;

    would you consider consigning to PWCC right now {considering everything that is going on over there}

    I have to much S**t; so if you working on sets or are a player/team collector, send me your want list, with conditions desired. Keep in mind I have a another job so please allow me a few days to respond.

    monday - base 10s were $550ish
    thurs - base 10s fetching $820ish

    these aren't pwcc or probstein auctions either.
    plenty closing so not anomalies either.

    not a rc. not a silver. not even an sp or ssp.

    just your standard 2019 every day base card.

    Is this a bubble though? As a seller... loving the value explosion. As a buyer... ouch!

    Almost seems like too rapid an increase... and anxious / panic buying is occurring.

    Bubble? That is the million dollar question..

    I am looking to start some new sets, but I keep holding off as I think to myself that I could have got the same at a fraction of the cost a few months back.

    Smart to buy now? Will this hold...

    Some prices have dropped quite a bit others have not.

    Example 1987 Fleer Traded/Update McGwire's prices have fallen while Maddux's have stayed about the same from the June feeding frenzy.

    I have seen dropping on some cards I have been tracking.

    The 89 UD Griffey seems to be in the rise even more. Recent auctions are ending around $1,700. More than I have seen in any prior month. That card is at a new high!

    Griffey cards do seem to be maintaining their prices.

    '19 luka prizm base 10s @ $425+ (insanity)

    NBA is doing a lot of right things currently. Especially w. how well the games look televised, the action, participation of e-fans and overall buzz.

    MLB not so much. When talk of a cardboard cut out of Weekend at Bernies is all the rage, something is very wrong. And I love bernie.

    I think there may be a "bubble" on ultra modern refractors. But I look at it like the 80's. The legends/hall of famers pretty much always maintain there value. If you are buying a red refractor of a totally unkown rookie for 500-1000 bucks you either have more money to burn than me or you are just a straight gambler. You can put that same money into something much safer in the card market like unopened or a HOFer rookie card. JMO. Obviously, if you buy that red refractor for 500 and it turns out to be Trout, than you are loving life.

    I cannot hit curveball. Straightball I hit it very much. Curveball, bats are afraid.

    @blurryface LOL... "If you are buying a red refractor of a TOTALLY UNKNOWN ROOKIE”for 500-1000 bucks.

    I wouldn’t consider Soto unknown. I was referring to prices like these for a dude that just got called up. Sure he may be a phenom but I think this is a huge gamble. Soto is obviously legit, the gamble is just if he stays healthy.

    But way to take over a thread to show off your collection.

    Also, @blurryface I've been doing a little speculation as well, before the season started. I'm a big Indians fan as I was born in Cleveland. So, I've been buying up rookies/autos/refractors of Bieber and Civale. When you get a chance watch them pitch. Youve probably already watched Bieber. He's a stud, but Civale seems to have a little Maddux in him. Obviously that is big praise, and time will tell. He just reminds me of Maddux. Ridiculous control and everything that he throws has a lot of movement on it. Not a strike out guy like Bieber but looks like a star in the making to me and his cards can still be bought pretty cheap.

    It's insane to see how the card market as exploded since quarantine started. I bought a Hank Aaron rookie card when COVID hit, and explosion of price has been crazy. PSA 4 in March was about $1,500. Now, people are selling the same card between $3,000-3,500. I am happy people are putting more respect for Hank Aaron. Definitely underrated amongst the greats that people talk about.

    Love seeing the analysis of all the other cards in this thread! Keep it up guys!
