Mets beat Redsox Gm 6 in 86. And I was there. Mets fans around us we’re leaving after the second out in 9th. They actually put up Congratulations Boston Red Sox World Series Champs up on Scoreboard at Shea before game was actually over

2001 World Series, New York Yankees vs Arizona Diamondbacks. The D Backs put an end to the 90s Yankees dynasty, and they did it at home in an unbelievable fashion when their best hitter Luis Gonzalez faced the unstoppable Mariano Rivera in the bottom of the ninth. Hollywood couldn't write a script that good.

Chargers vs Dolphins, 2 Jan 1982; Chargers won 41-38 in Overtime.

    Dan Fouts 33-53, 433 yds, 3 TDs
Don Strock 29-43, 403 yds, 4 TDs (and he didn't even get into the game until the 2nd quarter)
Kellen Winslow 13 catches, 166 yds, 1 TD
Charlie Joiner 7 catches, 108 yds
Wes Chandler 6 catches, 106 yds
Tony Nathan 9 catches, 114 yds, 1 TD
Duriel Harris 6 catches, 106 yds
Chuck Muncie 24 carries, 120 yds, 1 TD

7 FG attempts, only 3 were good; each team missed 2 FGs, including 1-each in OT

Chargers up 24-0 after 1st quarter
Dolphins score 17 in 2nd quarter to make it 24-17 at halftime on "hook & lateral" TD
Game tied 31-31 after 3rd quarter
Tied 38-38 at end of regulation, after Kellen Winslow blocked Miami's 43 yard FG attempt.
Chargers take OT kickoff and get to Dolphins' 10 yard line, and miss 27-yard FG
Dolphins get ball, take it to Chargers' 18, and have 35-yard FG blocked by Leroy Jones
Chargers get ball at their own 16 yard line, drive 74 yards to Dolphins' 10, and finally win 41-38 after 13 minutes and 52 seconds of OT

Haha no worries bud, the Sox have won their fair share so I can’t complain. Regarding that ‘86 heartbreaker, it was devastating when I was 16 and all in on baseball!! 🍻

Super Bowl XXXIV in 1999 was a heck of a game, and it all came down to about one yard.
