My grades just got released and I just made a NGC PF68 Cameo 1973S Silver DDO FS101. Only 67s have sold on GC. Didn't see any on HA.

Did NGC mistakenly label your proof coin as a Mint State?

No, its the proof DDO, like your listing. Thanks for the link! At least I have an upper limit at 69UC. Ill try to do my homework on the 68Cam unless someone else can help me.

I think Mitch asked that question because your OP states NGC MS68 Cameo which would be in error.
Oops, good catch. PF68 Cameo. Edited above.
Melt.
The 1973-S Silver proof DDO FS101 is on my list of "problem varieties" that I have been meaning to investigate further, but just haven't got around to, yet. Perhaps others would care to have a look, as well.
On all 1973-S silver proof Ikes, there is obverse master doubling (particularly on IGWT and the date). When I look at the FS-101, I'm not sure that I am seeing anything other than the usual master doubling. What do you all think?
Here are PCGS images for the DDO and regular 1973-S silver proof Ikes:

Keep in mind that these are proof coins, so you may see some lesser thickness in the letters and numerals on some coins due to excessive die polish. Note that on the DDO images, the mintmark moves around, so there is clearly not a single die that is being attributed as the DDO.
Edit: My point is this: If the FS-101 is nothing more than master doubling, the market will eventually catch on to this, and therefore no premium would be expected. This is not a variety I would invest in unless I could see PUPs that are different from a normal 1973-S silver proof Ike. If anyone can point those out, please be my guest!
Nice!
You had the same response to someone's Goodacre golden dollar a few days ago.
Do you even like coins?
Only the Shadow knows.
Well, its probably going to auction at Great Collections, unless someone wants it here along with the Friendly Eagle Reverse I cherry picked from myself!
PCGS stopped grading this “variety” (and the 72-S DDO) a couple years ago when the CPG removed it. Justin located a number of super high grade specimens that we couldn’t submit. I am not sure PCGS has now changed their stance on these and is accepting this variety again. I think they should even if it is an obsolete CPG variety due to lack of strong interest. Otherwise, the PCGS existing pops would become a bit misleading due to many coins existing but being unable to be graded. Hopefully, they already began accepting these again.
