Is Dansco out of business?

jmski52jmski52 Posts: 22,867 ✭✭✭✭✭

I've looked several places and nobody has any Dansco albums in stock. If the company is still in business, they aren't doing a very good job of supplying their market. Does anyone know the company's status?

From the DanscoAlbumStore.com website (a separate company not part of Dansco itself):

    Please Note:
DANSCO has started working in their new Washington State location until Covid-19 has shut down all non-essential business. As soon as Washington State gives the okay to go back to work, Dansco will then begin the process of rehiring and retraining their new staff. It could be a while for them to produce and ship specific items so please add your email to the notify me list for any specific items you are looking for. This is the only way to be notified once something is available for purchase. We have not been given any ETA's on any product release dates. (Messaged updated 6-11-20)

This might be the ticket to get me out of the need to have a uniform set of coin albums. What a way to run a business.

What a way to run a business.

so it is your interpretation that attempting to be responsible for the overall health of our Country, at the short term expense of a very small percentage of people, is a bad business practice?? to my way of thinking Dansco is doing what they can in the present to ensure their company can provide product to the Hobby in the future. further, it may not even be Dansco's fault, their work-force may have been adversely affected.

    just be patient.

No, they are not out of business. Just out of competence.

I didn't say that, did I? You have your own opinion, I have mine. No need to put words in my mouth.

Maybe they're waking up to reality in the hobby.

Dansco had issues even before any pandemic. It took them many years (decades?) to reissue the 7070 type album despite plenty of demand. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if it took a long time for them to get back into making albums (if they do at all).
