Such medals appeal to me, maybe because they were handled without too much care for preservation.
The horse's head is high relief on a fairly large planchet. No other identification, other than the reverse insription 3eme (Third) Acc't (do not know for what that is the abbreviation). And a name, Chauvain. Horse? Owner? Don't know.

    I will say that the Europeans love to celebrate all things agricultural including animal husbandry with some nice medals. Peace Roy

    I suspect that at one time the medal was holed in order to mount it as a decoration. This was probably well after it was actually issued. The owner who had originally been awarded the medal had probably passed away and the new owner just thought the depiction of the horse looked good.

    All glory is fleeting.
