is more expensive and is raw (at about the same grade). I'd rather have one PCGS authenticated and graded rather than risking having it returned from PCGS in a "genuine only" slab or worse, counterfeit.

I know I have been out of the market for circulated late date wheat cents for decades, but what am I missing here? I would not have spent $5 on that 1957. please enlighten me.
Okay, on a bit of a serious note. It is my birth year and I'm putting together a circulated year set. My (more reasonable) offer was accepted by the seller so I'm in for about half what it would have been to send the coin myself with a batch of others.
Why the 1960-D is being offered at such a ridiculous asking price is beyond me. Sort of added a bit of spice to this thread though.
