I have a close friend who is like that. He has a magnificent baseball card collection, and to my knowledge, he's never traded or sold a single one of his cards.

Those that collected 80s baseball and never sold have guessed right seeing what prices are today.

I bought a few McGwire Olympic rookie cards back when it was $15-$20. A few years later, the home run race comes along and I sold all but one that I kept for my personal collection. I have only really sold a tiny fraction of my cards. I think its time to do a little more selling soon.

I've been wearing the same socks for 2 years, but that's because socks cost money, money that could be used on cards. I keep the socks outside at night so my wife can breathe.

That sounds exactly like something my Uncle Joe would have said!

I am in my late 40s and last sold a card at a garage sale as a kid (probably 12 years old). I did pare down my collection on my last move by getting rid of monster boxes of 80s commons. My concentration now and even then is vintage HOFers primarily in the Topps and Bowman era. But I still have all my sets and boxes of stars from when I was a kid. When I upgrade something I never seem to get around to selling the duplicate.

This would be me. I have sold cards three times since beginning collecting. Once was to get rid of some stuff I did not want in my collection. I really do not like off condition cards in my collection. The other two times were simply to sell something that a fellow collector really wanted.

    My wife said that’s me.....

  • Ya, me too. Collected as a kid from 65-69 and then picked back up in 80 to about 83. Back in around 86-93 and ended up with lots of mid 80's to mid 90's of unopened. I think I sold maybe 2 cases of mothers cookies products and sold that 2006 or 2007 Gold Jeter/Bush/Lincoln card and always regretted it. I think I can still buy it for about the same price, but have always used that card as a reason not to sell. My name is John Miller and I am a sportscard horder. Whew...

I actually have an uncle Joe! He's known for being the cheapest guy in our family, the guy will never leave more than a dollar for a tip at a restaurant. True story, and I actually have a picture of him at a restaurant for you guys to see for a little entertainment. That's him on the left, sipping the straw. He's a hilarious guy to be around!

Longtime board legend Stone193(Mike) may have never sold any of his cards.

Wish he would start posting again sometime soon. He has a great collection.
