Does this look legit to you?

I noticed that the last letter doesnt link with the second last one and also the ladt letter isnt connected to the bottom line of the card.... it is still looking kind of promising but. Please let me know what you think :)

What were circumstances behind the issue of these cards?

At first glance, and knowing absolutely nothing about the card or issue, I would assume it to be a manufactured, pack certified autograph and have no reason not to think it wasn't real. A back of card image might help support or refute that idea though, as there are no trademarks, logos or anything else on the front to help identify who made it or where it came from. It is possible that it is a nicely done custom card that someone either had signed later or could be a preprint or a fake.

I collect Steve Garvey, Dodgers and signed cards. Collector since 1978.
