PCGS MS66 PICS MAKE IT LOOK LIKE A 63 TO ME.
HAS TO BE BETTER IN HAND.

As you hopefully saw, many of us graded it higher - some of us, by three points - than you did.

Yeah...I would grade it much higher from those pictures!

The fact that I guessed low on the grade (which is 66 CAC, whereas my guess was 65) only tells me the picture is compromising the coin's liquidity. It doesn't tell me I don't know how to grade Buffalo Nickels, which very well may be true. Here it is on Heritage's site, where the pictures make me feel better about the coin.

    Thank you . . .and thanks Mark . . . .

I think this may just show . . . reinforce for all of us . . . how tough it is to grade from a pic.

For some of us (me??) it may be tough to grade in hand !!!! :-)

The picture does not do the coin justice in my opinion now seeing it from the Heritage site.

I have a 64 that looks much nicer. Luster must be over the top to receive a 66 grade. I swear the strike sure isn’t the reason.

This 1918 Buff has been graded 64. Go figure.

    I've got a couple(not 1918's) in 64 holders that I thought would go higher

I’m pretty sure we all do my coin brother, Chris. The buffalo nickels have proven to be one of the toughest coins to grade straight across the board. By that I mean most all have a tough time grading them.
The images shown for this GTG are extremely washed out by very bright lights to the point where you can’t really see the coin and would have to rely on the grade assigned and the CAC sticker. As mentioned by @koynekwest the strike on this particular piece is lacking, I agree. He and I have been at the series for decades. The fields are extremely clean and I must assume the luster is booming. Thus the 66 grade was assigned.
I still say the strike is lacking.
    The pics really suck.
    Happy hunting, Joe

I completely agree, Joe. That original image was a bad one.
