Buddy of mine picked them up.
Gave me his story as to what they are... fascinating.
I'm curious to see if anyone here wants to hazard a guess as to what they are and if they are genuine 😉

Katanga cross currency. Genuine? No idea.

Right. I didn't get a decent enough picture to see it clearly, but there are tiny flecks of silver that supposedly float up with the slag as the copper cools.
I was told that there can also be tiny flecks of gold as well...
    Pretty cool coins!
They're hefty and neat to handle.
On has a chunk sliced out, an ancient shaving no doubt 😉

Katanga crosses, primitive money from what is now Nigeria. Expensive if genuine, but they really need good providence since they're relatively cheap and easy to replicate.

Waste no more time arguing what a good man should be. Be one.

I was thinking the same thing..
There are plenty to be had on eBay, ranging from quite cheap to quite expensive. So my guess is... there is no shortage of "replicas"
    Oh well.

Would be fun to send one in for grading 😅

The slab would come with four legs to screw into the corners, to turn it into a coffee table.
