Detecting a top/bottom card

I have about 60 total wax packs of 78/79/81/88 and 89 basketball that I am contemplating getting all graded. I see the big difference in realized prices if a big star i.e. Jordan, is an end card. Does PSA or BBCE identify for you any big stars or do you have to make reference ahead of time?
If it is up to the owner, are there any easy ways on how to figure it out? I've looked at a few from each of the years and cant see anything well enough.
Any input appreciated
Thanks, Tom

PSA just verifies if you indicate a certain card showing. They do not label a card even if it's clear if you do not signify on your submittal a star is showing. Some years wax you simply cannot see through good enough in my experience.

Thank you, Tom
I recently subbed some 1988 wax. You have to really strain your eyes to tell what sticker is on the back but it can be done.
This is one of the easier ones. If a direct/indirect light on the pack doesn't work, I would suggest taking a photo of the back of the pack and then you can easier manipulate the photo on your computer to tint to see what is beneath.
I did the eye strain thing on a 78 Topps baseball wax pack. I could see the name on the bottom card started Mcc so I looked in the pop report page for all players who’s name started with Mcc. Then I was able to look up the picture of those cards and verify it was McCovey on the bottom. It didn’t add a ton to its value but it added a little and was fun to figure out.
Collecting:
post world war II HOF rookie
76 topps gem mint 10 commons 9 stars
Arenado purple refractors(Rockies) Red (Cardinals)
successful deals with Keevan, Grote15, 1954, mbogoman
Lots of my unopened w/ stars/rookies showing are 1980s Donruss. I would check packs as I ripped boxes from BBCE. If I was ripping an '85 box, I'd google the backs of Clemens, Puckett, Gooden, whoever I would be interested in, and have them ready. I once IDed a Clemens rookie by the stats that I could see through the back wrapper.
