Everyone, meet the bearded Mantle

doubledragondoubledragon Posts: 23,269 ✭✭✭✭✭

He is a legend, he has made many appearances in the trading card section, and now he just wants to say hello to everyone in the sports talk forum. Yes, I'm talking about the legendary 1952 Topps bearded Mantle. He has been on Ebay it seems like forever, and no one will buy him.

    Condition: Acceptable
    Price: US $18,000.00

I have a habit of checking the 52' Topps Mantle section on Ebay every now and then just to see what's for sale, and I always see the bearded Mantle. It breaks my heart that nobody will give him a home. The poor bearded Mantle. Nobody loves him, he just sits on Ebay all alone.

Instead of "altered" maybe the flip should have said "shaved" as it looks like someone tried to remove the beard. LOL

  • Hey, a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle is a 1952 Mickey Mantle.

I'd have to sell it if I had it. The beard is just too much. Now if it had only sideburns, I could live with that.

Sideburns the style of the hairy 70’s lol
