New eBay packing slips

MasonGMasonG Posts: 6,268 ✭✭✭✭✭

Here is the format for addressing packages, direct from the USPS website:

Name or attention line
Company
Delivery address
City, state, ZIP Code

Example...

JANE L MILLER
MILLER ASSOCIATES
1960 W CHELSEA AVE STE 2006R
ALLENTOWN PA 18104

Here is the new format eBay has chosen for packing slips:

JANE L MILLER
MILLER ASSOCIATES
1960 W CHELSEA AVE STE 2006R
ALLENTOWN
PA 18104

If it ain't broke, eBay will fix it.

i wonder if it makes it easier to read the city when doing hundreds/thousands of sorts? hence more accuracy or something. any more info as to the why?

I would think there'd be less accuracy by not following the format that USPS expects. I didn't see any announcement about the change, it just showed up when I printed a packing slip tonight. Wasn't like that yesterday.

It's the shipping label or packing slip? If it's the packing slip, the format is irrelevant.

If they sort by zip codes, why don't they make it bigger to get it where it goes to first, then sorters stack by addresses, I always mark front and back with larger zip codes and never had any problems, some say it even gets there faster!

Not if you use a copy of the packing slip for an address label.

    I'd prefer mine wasn't, either.

At the bottom of the 'print invoice' page there is a link to 'edit packing slip and shipping label template'.
Perhaps it's something you can fix.

Doesn't appear so, but thanks for the suggestion.
