1875 Canada 5 Cent - Large or Small 5?

Hi Everyone,
I recently won this 1875 5 cent in an European auction, with no description as to the variety. I bid according to the price of a small 5, but when I just got it today, it looks like a large 5? It has no distance between the bottom line of the 5 and the curve?
Does anyone know more about the variety, and could let me know as to which one it is?
Thanks in advance

I'm not positive, but the left side of the down stroke on the 7 is curved and the top bar of the 5 is flatter, so I'm leaning towards small date. Any chance of a pic with the full date shown?

I was thinking large date as the curve on the 5 juts out a lot

Tough one. I still think it's a small date, but can see why you think it might be large. Hopefully some Canadian specialists will chime in

The 5 appears to be lower than the rest of the digits. The above link has some comparative photos from another site, where this question also posted:

My 2003 Charlton catalog says the difference is:
Small Date - short top on 5 (and photo shows flatter top)
Large Date - long top on 5 (and photo shows more curved top)

Based on this, yours appears to be the Small Date.

Another possible marker is the width of the 1 - narrow on small date, wide on large date.

There are pretty good photos on the J and M site:

I looked at several 1875 5 cents currently on ebay.
To be honest, the difference between the two is not very obvious,
and I would not want to pay a premium for the Large Date.

There appear to be several date positions, which may be somewhat easier to determine.

Looks like a small date to me.

    it is small date, IMO
    it might even be a 7/7 + 5/5
can we please see a shot of the obv?
this series is notorious for small differences.
Have several small dates and only 1 LD... I think it is, despite macro lens, just a messy mess.
