Haven't heard about it yet. What's the story?

"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Ebay is finally going to be the one processing payments. They are cutting ties with PayPal. You will have to supply Ebay with your banking info. There will also be a "hold" on your payments.

Is this a company you trust to manage your money?

It’s okay.. I liked PayPal because I received the money right away but now I have to wait a few days.

I had a buyer try and steal all the good cards from a set I sold. He returned the commons only and the money was frozen for a month. Was really frustrating.

Yes but only because he waited 31 days to return instead of 30 they decided in my favor. If he would have shipped it a day sooner I’d be out 2k. He kept trying to hit me up for partial refunds during the return, it was a nightmare.

    Morning,

I had a Buyer purchase 11 Auctions/BIN and I stated that it would be combined shipping, so I sent them in one Medium Priority Flat Rate Box. Without ever contacting me, he told E-Bay that what I sent wasn't what he was too receive (It was). E-bay allowed him to print 9 Priority Flat Rate Envelopes on my Dime ($6.80 X 9), then he mails them to me and as soon as post Office says their back in my hands, Refunded all his money. I fought with E-Bay, took pictures, with my Postman opening one of the empty envelops, got nowhere, finally gave up, glad I was only out $400! Also I had previously Blocked this Bidder because of previously costing me $30-$40 in a previous order, but when I checked my Blocked bidder list he was not on it! So he is now! I check all bidders and if they seem Hinky I just don't send the item and take the hit, done this twice recently!

Also had a (0) Feedback Bidder give me a Neg because I refused to send the item not to the E-Bayers address, but a second one they supplied, which is Per E-Bay Policy. E-Bay would do nothing, I just sat the Neg out for a year!

    Yeah I Love Fee-Bay!

I dont like it at all. Lots of reasons, but number one is that anything ebay does screws the seller, this wont be any different at all. Opened up a second bank account because I didnt want ebay to have info on my main account. Keep in mind, when you sign up for it, you are giving them the right to WITHDRAW money from your account, for any reason they see fit. Not good

IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

I read that shocking story about those Ebay employees being indicted and the ridiculous shenanigans they pulled. Just what the heck is really going on over there at Ebay? They're probably watching us all right now. They probably have our phones tapped.

I stopped selling on Ebay because of this and the unfair (to sellers) return policy.

For you guys who have been using it (my sign up date is July 15 for when I have to), do you now wait to ship until the funds are actually in your account, risking slow shipping dings? I try to ship the same day or the next day at the latest, but I'm not a fan of shipping before I actually get the money.

Agreed. Pretty bad feeling shipping out a $500 card before you get paid, then you are out the card AND the money if something stupid happens.

This is terrible. That's the end of selling anything myself. Wonder if this will affect the consignment arrangements?

I gave up selling on eBay before I even heard of this. If eBay thinks I'm going to trust them with my banking information then they're smoking crack.

I have not received anything from eBay regarding no longer using PayPal. I wounder if they are rolling this out in stages.

ALL BS aside....does anyone know anything about this? We will all have to sign up. I have until 15 JULY. Will I have to do a bunch of work and edit a ton of listings individually or some crap like that? It seems like they are withholding all the exact info on this except give me all of your banking info. I have a "REALLY" bad feeling about all of this. Anyone with solid helpful info?? Anyone??

Doesn’t answer everyone’s questions, but it does say that existing listings will be automatically updated. https://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/service-and-payments/managed-payments-on-ebay.html

I share the concern about the length of time to receive payments and when to ship - I typically leave my selling money in PayPal to fund future purchases, so I don’t have the comparable overhead of a couple days to get funds into my bank account that eBay is touting as a “benefit”. This may be awful.
