How does this even happen? Kobe Rookie PSA
I sent in my Kobe rookie card almost 4 months ago when the coronavirus messed things up at PSA so it was there for a lot longer than it should have been. Anyways when I sent it in I am 90% sure that this corner was not bent. I have before pictures but they aren't the best as I took no photos focused in on each corner. I sent it in through a dealer of mine and the card went straight into a card saver while it was in a penny sleeve and off to PSA so I am fairly sure it didn't happen then either. It would be mind blowing to me that something this severe got past my eyes before sending it in. Truly disappointing as it definitely tanked the grade!! I doubt there is anything I can do as I can't prove it wasn't like this before.... Darn

same thing happened to me, I sent in a card that was easily an 8.5 or 9. Came back a 4
Unfortunately, I have had a few cards come back damaged. You are at a loss making a complaint. PSA will state it could have happened in the shipping process. Sure, there are probably instances that may have happened, but most I don't think so. They will not take responsibility for cards that are damaged.
I had the same thing happen to me with a beautiful 1969 Topps Nolan Ryan. The card came back with a corner crease like yours. My grade was lower and I decided it was not worth the trouble arguing the issue with PSA. Like you, I was really upset about the whole situation.

Whenever you can manage it, hand off your order to PSA at a show. It's not going to guarantee this doesn't happen, but it's one less stop in the chain of custody where blame can be assigned.
There is probably some type of disclaimer on the submission sheet. So when you sign, it makes accidents like this go away.
I too am a member of this club.
You'll get advice like cutting corners off a penny sleeve inside the card saver, yada yada, but if you submit enough cards it will happen.
Never had this problem sending cards to Beckett or SGC.
Terry Bradshaw was AMAZING!!

Did you insert the card in the CardSaver or did your dealer friend? If you didn’t do it yourself, how can you be sure the dealer didn’t damage the card before it ever got to PSA?

Was standing with the dealer who inserted them into the cardsavers. I went back to check on another card he put into a cardsaver that was actually thinner and more prone to bending. Nothing.... Such a bummer because I almost never submit anything and this was one card I had that was worth grading.
Not sure how they were packaged up and shipped but cards do work there way out of the top of the card saver I. I have received cards (not from PSA) that the seller sent and the cards were sticking out of the top of the card saver and had damage to the corners. That is one possibility. Regardless of how it happened it is a major let down.
It sucks man, for sure. Sorry to hear about it.

Happened here on a rare hof signed rookie. Some days you're the pigeon, other days the statue. Unfortunately, today you were the statue.
