I can't help identifying, but it does look like it's had a silver wash that has worn off. Which leads me to wonder if it's a contemporary counterfeit?

I believe that it is a French token or jeton.

    The king is Louis XV.

It could also be a coin weight, meant to verify the weight of the coin it resembles.

It is clearly something other than a coin issued during the reign of Louis XV. The design and production is sloppy, something that you would not see during that period if it were a government issued coin. It is a private issue of some sort.

    All glory is fleeting.
