MJ's preseason debut sells for $35k...
"An online sports-memorabilia auction last week included a ticket stub from that NBA preseason game between the Chicago Bulls and the Indiana Pacers, played Oct. 5, 1984, at the Peoria Civic Center Arena.
The stub sold for $34,800.
The original ticket price, for a seat in the second row, was $8.
Heritage Auctions, a Dallas-based firm, conducted the sale."

Does psa grade ticketmaster tickets yet? They didnt previously, right?
Which ticket stubs are actually worth anything? Would it be vintage ones, Superbowl, world series etc? How do you find out?
My understanding is that they still do not

For me, it's games that had individual milestones (3,000 hit, 500th home run, 300th win, 62nd HR), or epic events (1985 NLCS game 5 with Ozzie's HR, 1988 WS game 1 with Gibson's HR, Brett's pine tar game), or historic events (9/11 cancelled games, 1989 WS game 3 earthquake).
I still have some tickets left from my entire ticket collection on ebay. I have multiples of some if you are interested. https://ebay.com/sch/m.html?_odkw=&_ssn=mygirlsthree3&item=174154144634&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2046732.m570.l1313.TR12.TRC2.A0.H0.Xticket.TRS0&_nkw=ticket&_sacat=0

I started chasing down various highlight event games years back, but it is a very slow go and I find it frustrating. Now you sift through so many higher priced "common" game stubs and might find 1 significant every once in a while. Most of the time, they too are overpriced.
To be clear, I am chasing Steve Garvey career achievements and very few are probably worthy of interest outside die hard Garvey collectors. I can see something like his debut, consecutive game streak, etc. I have taken it further, to just about any significant event I could think of. Last Dodger AB, First Padre RBI, 1000th Hit, HRs off HOF pitchers, etc. Again, I suspect most of these have very little interest beyond a similar Garvey collector who has just about everything else alreasy.
If anyone has any stray, unwanted or for sale Dodger stubs from 1969-82 and Padre stubs 1983-1987 (and the two teams would play each other too, obviously), you may have one or more I seek, even if it seems like a common game. Shoot me the dates and I can let you know. I do try to do a daily search on ebay, but that is not perfect and probably miss some all the time.
Coincidentally Oct. 5th is the most popular birthday because it's 40 weeks from Valentines Day..
