does this impact players stats, negatively, like Strasberg, Verlander, Trout, Pujols, etc. as far their HOF and overall credentials. (maybe their card values, too). Trout will be losing around 90 or 100 games in his prime, this could be 125 hits, 20-25 HR's. Any thoughts?
Work hard and you will succeed!!

At this point, I hope they just come back for next year. For one who cares if your team was the WS champ of a 50 or 75 game season big, big deal. And second, my Nationals would be 2-year champs!!
I still want to see baseball, but the window is closing fast. Instead of buying current MLB rookies, I am now buying Zion and Ja Morant, which is not a bad option. Trout cards should be OK. Really not good for Harper, Machado, Stanton, Strasburg, and etc. These players are at their prime and this is basically an entire season down the toilet.
Nobody talks about the HRs Schmidt and Jackson lost, the hits Pete Rose lost or the strikeouts Nolan Ryan lost during the 1981 strike (season was 49 games short). Ted Williams and Willie Mays lost significant time to being in the military during wars. Most generations have something that has interrupted baseball. The HOFers will get their stats. It can make a difference though, Mays would have had 700 HRs without the war - maybe his cards would be in the Mantle stratosphere if he had not missed that time (I would argue they already should be). Williams would have been the 2nd player to get to 600 - again maybe his cards hit the Mantlesphere if he didn’t miss that time.
I'm hoping for exactly what you dismiss. So many sub top tier players and prospects need this to happen. I will embrace it.

Baseball might actually be interesting with a reduced schedule. Normally, who really cares about what happens during a 162 game schedule.
Reduced income/profits as well.
He might have hit 700 HR.
Williams would have been in the 640-660 range in Hr’s and would be the all time RBI champ as well.
This is exactly what I was thinking. Or the 1994 strike. It seems like every 20-25 years, a season is severely impacted. So I agree, most superstars with record statistics are impacted at one point in their career.

I am curious as to how you came up with 640-660. That seems too low to me.
He missed three full seasons, 1943,44,45 when he was hitting about 37 HR per year. That figures to be 111 HR.
He missed all of 1952 (1 HR) and most of 1953 (13HR), when he was hitting about 30 HR per year. Minimum he should have hit another 46.
521+111+46=678
He hit 38 HR four years later in 1957. So he certainly could have hit 37 per year in 1952-53. That would raise his hypothetical HR total to 692.
Or, you could use his HR per AB number of 14.8 and give him an average if 522 AB for those 5 seasons and you get 691 for his final tally.
If Teddy Ballgame has a shot at 700, I would bet the house that he would have gotten it!
Cano and Cabrera will really feel the pinch. Both have a chance at the HOF and 3000 hits, but missing 2/3 of a season at age 38 will definitely cause a few problems.
Starlin Castro will be hurt too in his chance at 3000 hits. Don’t think he makes the HOF even if he gets there but he is on a decent pace.
Nelson Cruz is probably not too happy either.
No way they play this season. The COVID delay just accelerated the timeline on a prolonged players' strike that would have followed the 2020 season. Players' union isn't going to accept anything when they have the cover of blaming COVID for their labor dispute.
Owners think "we pay you a ridiculous amount of money to play baseball"
Players think "If every MLB team is essentially a $5 billion asset (or more) in every owners pocket, we want into that piggy bank as well"

I’m about done with baseball.
Cabrera's HOF induction has been set in stone for years now.
Salaries are way too high, games are way too long, ticket prices for decent seats way too costly.
I don't care about the salaries, but the pace of the game is annoying and I won't pay the money it costs to get the games on TV at home.
The last game I went to it took 2 hours to play the first 4 innings!
Players and owners don't seem to care about the fans, so I don't know why we should care about them.
I remember as a child seeing statistics on the back of cards that showed significantly fewer games played in 1981, along with lots less hits, home runs, wins, strikeouts, etc. I didn't understand it until someone explained the strike that shortened the season. It also was interesting the first time I saw stats on the back of a card from the 50's that showed that a player missed seasons for military service. Guess now the present generation will have the same experience. I wonder what Topps will use as language for the 2020 season if it isn't played? "Season cancelled due to pandemic?"

He also had a shot at the 3K hit club , he ended his career at 2654 hits. The years he missed were the primo ages (24, 25,and 26). During his twenties he averaged 184 hits per year, I put him around 3200 total hits
