I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before but have you seen the CARD SAVER 1 Prices lately. Prices the other day were 249 a case plus tax for 2000 holders with them getting a shipment next week. Now they are out of stock with no more till early July.

Made in China. And the card boom has challenged the supply since it is limited.
E-Mail from Cardboard Gold today on CARD SAVER 1 ETA: ETA June 26th - pricing is TBA
Columbia Hobby on eBay has cases of them for $249, for now.
"We have a shipment coming in around June 8th, 2020. Your order will be shipped immediately when we get it. Pricing is higher than normal due to our rush order to get these in at a international air freight price."
You can buy them on PSAs website. Just go to Store and then Supplies. They sell 100 for $10 plus shipping.

BE CAREFUL: I ordered some from psa nearly three weeks ago. Havent seen a thing.
Emails & phone calls have gone unanswered.
Shipping prices are outrageous too, btw. For $90 in shipping, you would think they could get them here under three weeks time even with the “covid” crisis.
Noticed this yesterday when looking for a case as well.
Thanks,

I ordered mine on the 31st. Only got 200, shipping was $13. Figured I'd just pay it cause I wanna send an order in fairly soon. Hopefully they don't take as long as yours are.
Edit to add: They never gave me a tracking number or anything either. The only info I see is that they are shipped Ground service.

I ordered mine also from PSA and they sent me a message today (since I emailed a few days ago) that said that they were behind on these 3-4 weeks due to covid. Speculating, but they likely didn't have supply in stock and they are also now waiting for the china distributions of the new shipments...
*I also was told that PSA doesn't provide tracking for store purchases of supplies so I would not see any updates on that.
Thanks for the update. Good information!
Would have preferred they just list in the website that they are out of stock, or post that it will be 3-4 weeks to get them. Because If I knew that I wouldn't have ordered them. Now I'm stuck waiting almost a month for overpriced card savers, when I could have just bought overpriced card savers on ebay and gotten them within a week.

Its not just card savers its all toploaders/penny sleeves as well
The supplier I use is totally sold out until late July. I can usually get them if I buy two cases for about $1.43 per 25 pack. I was told that they were going to be about $2.90 per 12 pk when they get them in again in 2 months. Penny sleeves used to b 43 cents per hundred if you bought in bulk, cheapest I have seen is 1.29 per pk in bulk and supplier is sold out of those as well.
After a 34 minute hold today, I finally got thru to someone today that told me mine shipped yesterday via fedex ground (still, $90 shipping) although couldn't give me a tracking number. Seemed very fishy and worst case scenario should be here by Monday.
On the flip side though, I store all raw in cs1s but people prefer to store or send raw in top loaders. I hate throwing them away for environmental reasons, so I stacked them up neatly, took a pic, listed on ebay and sold 1200 used top loaders with an abundantly accurate description on the overall crappy condition complete with tape, adhesive, some yellowing and scratching on 95% of the lot and they sold almost instantly at $199.99. This almost paid for my cardsavers I ordered from psa. Shipped them out via fedex ground to Cali today. Only costs me $18. ( Utum, PSA shipping charges )
You might be able to get them on Amazon too, and if they're prime shipping, have them in 2 days. I did that last time I ordered some a few weeks ago.
sold and sold brother...no supplier has them who had them in bulk before.
I stopped by LCS yesterday and the shelves were empty where the Top Loaders were, lol.
Is there a strong preference for the Card Saver 1s vs. the Ultra Pro Semi Rigids, and if so, why? Also, any opinions on the Ultra Pro penny sleeves vs. the Cardboard Gold penny sleeves? Thanks
I've actually wondered this to. The Ultra Pro Semi Rigids look very similar to the Card Saver 1s. Not sure what the difference is.

I use the generic SafTGard CS1 equivalents, during normal times they're $40-60 delivered for a case of 1000. I've had no issues and the only difference I've noticed is the lack of the embossed logo.
Seems like a new interpretation of the old saying, "Buy the card, not the holder." I've got an awful lot of top loaders here that are getting to be worth more than the cards that are inside them. Sounds like time to shift focus and unload the loaders.
And, when I resub items that came back ungraded the first time with N9 and N4 stickers and the like on them, I typically throw those out and use new CS1's instead of resubbing with the same denial stickers. I wonder if supply is so desperate, that people may be interested in CS1's that have been PSA-reject-stickerfied?
If you have sufficient quantities, i'd say yes. although we need to talk about your subs! 😉
but my box of used top loaders went to a breaker who was using the stuff to ship out stuff with only.
each day it seems more and more collectors are starting to take notice of the lack of supply!
the breakers are in for a rude awakening and profit margins are gonna get heavily eaten if they weren't prepared.
I posted info on this topic a couple of weeks ago. Hoping to get to the LCS
later today and I'll see what the situation is. Most likely what you guys are
experiencing.
although we need to talk about your subs! 😉
A large percentage of the items in my subs are foreign items from sets that have never been graded before, so it typically takes several rounds of subbing and including published checklist data before I can catch the PSA research dept up on what I have. That's why all the N9's.
Stopped by LCS today to pick up CS1s -- totally out. He generally has an adequate supply. Shop owner indicated everything holder-wise but the cardboard boxes are made in China and major shipping issues at the moment. He wasn't sure when his placed order would arrive.
Columbia on eBay is selling cases of 2,000 for $250 shipped, and they've sold 114 of those cases at that price since June 1.
Edited to add:
1. It appears they have 30 cases left.
2. I am in no way affiliated with Columbia Sports Cards (or the University or the Medical center)
Contemplating using 100 new CS 1's and a 12 pack of Angel Soft as a downpayment on a new Corvette.
I got a case coming from Columbia on eBay and it has an estimated delivery date of Mon, Jun 22 - Mon, Jun 29
Luckily I found someone with some on a Facebook baseball card group and I bought 200 from him. I also have 200 coming from PSA at some point. Whenever I get the ones from PSA I will have some leftover that I can sell if anyone is still looking for some at that point.

my psa order from 3 weeks ago did arrive today, so there's hope...
Columbia on eBay has shipped my case of Card Saver 1's! There also selling individual boxes of Card Saver 1's now for $50 shipped. https://ebay.com/itm/100-Ct-Card-Saver-I-Cardboard-Gold-PSA-Graded-Semi-Rigid-Holders-CS1-Free-Ship/380590279024
I have always hated those holders. I get them all the time in the mail when people ship me items. Most of the stuff I have now is just stored in boxes, maybe soft sleeves for the good stuff, but at one time I also used toploaders, never the semi rigid holders.
However, I have 20+ years of getting them through the mail stashed away, as I have always saved all of that crap I don't use, thinking I would if I started selling more seriously someday. It sounds like maybe I missed the best time to capitalize on these, but I was thinking I would dig them out. Most of my used ebay supplies are sorted by type, so it would just be uncovering the right boxes.
Opinions on how popular used holders might be? I would probably just start them out at 99 cents for as many as could fit in a flat rate box and see where the auction takes it. Some are taped, written on, yellowed and/or worn, but many are new or like new as well. Will never use 95% of them even if I did start selling tomorrow. I suppose I could do better sorting out the newer ones to sell as a lot to someone who may want to store items in them.
Is there a rule with submitting to grading companies that the sleeve needs to be new/like new or does it matter at all?
I think they would sell for sure. Likely above the normal price for brand new ($20 per 200 ct box).
Should be able to last til supply gets back to normal. Using about 1 box every 3 weeks now that may/ June blew all my free money
Good news, got my card savers that I ordered through PSA today. I ordered them on the 31st so it took about 2 weeks. Not to bad, I was expecting them to take longer. It was $33 after shipping for 200 holders, less than they seem to be going for on ebay and other places at the moment.
