Modern card thickness

Was putting together a bulk sub this last weekend that included some 2011 SP Authentic BKB. Some of those cards were so thick that they wouldn't always go so easily into a semi-rigid card saver like the older thinner cards (using sleeves too obv).

Made me wonder - can a card be so thick that just resting in a new/tight Card Saver 1 might be doing harm to the condition?

I use CS4s for the really thick cards, CS1s seem to put too much pressure on the bottom corners.

Yes, the tight fit will take it's toll on the card over time.
