Can anyone tell me if this is a coin or token?

I got this from my uncle. He used to dabble in antiques and some coins. I used the Coinoscope app and searched the web. The only thing I could find remotely close was a Bar Kokhba Abu Jara large bronze coin. Can anyone tell me what this is?
Thanks!

Appears to be a false shekel, or maybe a facsimile of a genuine coin. The image with the ancient Hebrew script, surrounded by a wreath, is upsidedown, by the way.

    Fantasy piece
Second Jewish revolt against the Romans

The ancient Hebrew legend reads: on obverse: "The first year to the redemption of Israel", on reverse: "Shimon, Prince of Israel" (the coins is upside down, as noted by harasha)

Shimon, is a reference to Shimon Bar Kochba, the leader of the revolt who Rabbi Akiva initially believed was the Messiah. Upon realizing he was a false messiah, Rabbi Akiva nicknamed him Bar-Koziba which translates to "son of falsehood."
