NEWP 1718 Frankfurt Wedding Medal

Frankfurt 1718 Silver Medal celebrating the Golden Wedding of Seager V. Uschen and Margarethe Bartels. It shows a hand from the clouds binding the families’ coats of arms on the obverse and father Jacob in front of ladder on the reverse. 29.43 g and 44 mm. Medal by Christian Wermuth.
Won this in the recent Emporium Hamburg Auction. Paid a fair bit more than I wanted but I knew I’d regret not getting it. I’m really excited that I got it! It’s really beautiful.

Never seen that design. Well done.
Thanks!
Excellent design. I like it!
Lovely Medal! The big heft silver medals are so cool
Thanks! First time I ever saw something in an auction that I knew I had to win.
That's absolutely gorgeous- so intricate!
Talk about a "Stairway to Heaven!"
Re. Emporium Hamburg- you might want to read this, though I'm not suggesting it has any bearing on your medal whatsoever.
In light of what I've read, I'm suspicious of that firm, but your medal looks OK to me, from all I can tell. I'm not a specialist in such things, but it looks right for the period? I'd get it checked by someone who IS a specialist, just to be sure.
Wow, I definitely missed that thread when I did some brief research on that auction site before bidding. I did do a good bit more research in regards to the medal and I found a few examples of the medal selling in auctions in the past. I’ll definitely refrain from using them in the future thou.
