Non-scientific Analysis of PSA-graded Series Wax Packs...

Last Summer, I decided to embark on a project of unopened wax packs from a specific decade. I chose to make a run at 1960s 5-cent wax packs since this decade was my childhood and since the 1960s would present a challenge yet would still be doable with patience. My preference is to collect wax packs which have the series designated. Knowing the potential of a pack excites me! Some series are more desirable than others simply by star power in the series.

With too much time on my hands due to hunkering down at home during COVID-19...I took on a small project to compare financial potential of series within a particular year in the 1960s and thus show which series more likely would be desirable than others within that year. 1965 and 1967 seem to be particular weak when it comes to series designated packs while 1962 and 1960 are particular strong years.

To this end so that I would best compare apples to apples as far as value, I selected significant stars (value of at least $300+ and mostly HOFs) in an assumed grade of PSA-9. I used an eyeball estimate of recent realized auction prices on the PSA website.
Here is what I found with series listed for a particular year only if PSA has graded a pack for that particular series:

You've got way too much time on your hands. Also, stop putting down my 3rd series unopened wax case of 1962 Topps. I always though it was the most expensive. Now I'm bummed. LOL.
