I love the Greek one, but I have trouble with the translation. Homologous nature? In other words, motherly love transcends humanity?

I'll have to dig up the seller's comments, (eBay negotiated a MUCH lower price). Otherwise we can ask @SYRACUSIAN

@harasha I found the seller listing. He had listed it at about 10X what I wanted to pay for it...and took a best offer which was still way too high (but I'd gotten a little unexpected extra at work, so....), but this medal is pretty much IT for me. Art deco, mythological equine beastie, and mom/baby.

Société Des Amis De La Médaille 1937. Centauresse Et Son Petit. Armand Gaumont.

    COMMEMORATIVE MEDALS, ART MEDALS.
"Centauresse et Son Petit", Bronze Medal, c.1937, by Marcel-Armand Gaumont (1880-1962).
Produced for the Société des Amis de la Médaille Française, young centaur rides on the back of its adoring mother, rev legend in Greek [in concordance with nature], Extremely fine and rare.
The design taken from a bas relief in the Musée d'Art moderne, Paris and taken from the Exposition Internationale, 1937. Gaumont won the Grand Prix de Rome for sculpture in 1908.

    Opus: Marcel-Armand Gaumont (1880-1962).

    Edge: Bronze N° 172.

    Bronze 79,89mm, gr. 129.

    Very Very Rare Medal.

Thanks for sharing. I came across this one in my collection last night. Not really a medal because of the denomination, but on the other hand I doubt they circulated much.

I saw a set of the notgeld selling recently. Was tempted but another lit called. That is very cool.
