Possible 1930s Cardinals signed baseball?

I took a gamble and paid up for this ball. I don't know how to feel but to me it looked pretty good compared to other signatures online. From the seller's pictures I was able to make out 3 of the signatures. The ball is an American league ball with blue and red stitching which lines up with the late 20s early 30s. I know the Cardinals are a National League team and this is the only thing that struck me as odd.... I hope I didn't strike out on this lol!

Does this look legit to anyone else?

Being a Cardinals fan, I wanted to check. I think it is too hard to see in the pictures, even though it looks like you took great care in taking them. It is probably much easier to tell in person.

Is it weird that is was signed on an american league ball?

The reason why I am so interested in this ball is that Gabby Street was only with the team in 1930 and 1931. Both years they won the National League and 1931 they won the world series...

Also, Chick Hafey is a HOF and his signature on playing days balls isnt easy to come by.

That ball frightens and confuses me.

I would like to preface this in the nicest possible way and make sure you understand I am not bashing your item. That said, to each their own. I gotta say for me personally, I would not care who's autograph was on it. In that shape, it would be worth nothing to me. I appreciate the appeal for someone who has a special interest in a piece or if the item is ultra rare, but I see photos of balls like this and like Horse noted above, it puzzles me why anyone would want one. I hope it is much easier to read in person, because I can't make out anything. The flash spots are probably hurting quite a bit for us spectating from our armchairs.

I collect Steve Garvey, Dodgers and signed cards. Collector since 1978.

Thanks for the input. I guess I just like the old antique look it has and I will display it with my other baseballs. I highly doubt anyone would fake a baseball that looks like this one...

I agree that it is probably real. It's just that we can't see it.

I have a Gabby Street autograph on a partial scorecard along with a bunch of others like Harry Carey and Stan Musial from 1946. I am pretty sure that Gabby Street was a radio announcer with Harry Caray in 1946. He died in 1951.

    FANTASTIC item!

While I agree (sort of) with the posters who are not impressed with the appearance of the ball, and that it probably isn't "worth" a lot of money, it's truly an amazing piece. Certainly authentic. Good for you!

As far as it being on an AL ball, that's most likely what was on hand at the moment. It wasn't a big deal back then. A lot of old signed balls aren't even on official AL or NL balls.

    Thanks for posting!!!

Thanks guys, I should be receiving it in a couple days and hopefully fingers crossed i can get some better pictures myself. Maybe we can identify some of the other signatures on the ball!

The autographs are in such poor condition my suggestion is that you send the ball in to PSA and get it graded and the signatures authenticated because that really is the only way people would know who signed the ball and if it is authentic. Having this ball ungraded and unauthenticated makes it really close to worthless and a eye sore.

I do fully intend to have Beckett authenticate it locally whenever this covid mess clears up.
