Covid Itch continues:....Options are:

1981 T cello box
(10) 1983 T grocery packs

83 way more star power. 81 more nostalgic. Both are BBCE wrapped.

Most likely an evening rip.

1981 Cello. It will have a PSA 10 Fernando Valenzuela card in it.

I love 83 but haven’t seen 81 ripped in a while. Go for the Fernando 10.

81 is calling out - but there is just nothing in the damn set of value. It’s depressing to rip all the packs hoping for a Fernando or Rickey 10. The rest aren’t worth grading.

    What to do....

you can always sell them both on ebay, take the proceeds to buy a 1975 cello pack and open it instead and probably keep a few extra bucks in your pocket for supplies.

83, Gwynn, Boggs, Sandberg, second year Ripken. One of my favorites.

    83's if it were me.

Ok. 83’s it is. The 81 box is not FASC.

    Ripping now.

Well. Ripped 6 groceries and nothing to show for it. Just an OC Ripken.

For now, keeping other 4 unopened. In addition to the Boggs and Gwynn packs 2 other packs are nice.

3rd pack has a Fernando and Carew on top

4th pack has Garvey and Dale Murphy on top.

Any guesses what the Boggs and Gwynn groceries are worth?

In terms of what they are worth, who knows in the current climate? I bought a yellow 83 grocery with a Boggs on the back (showing the back of the card but you could see it without manipulating the wrapper) for about $60 shipped last week. There is a yellow Gwynn on ebay for something like $289 and it hasn't sold for months and months. And that one is like my Boggs- you can see the back of the card through the back of the wrapper. Congrats on the find! I love groceries somethin fierce!

thanks for sharing. I also agree great job by BBCE for not cherry picking the rack packs and letting you have the boggs and gwynn. I would keep those sealed.

Centering on the Gwynn looks well centered.

Agreed on BBCE. With one of my orders a few years ago, I bought a lot of 10 racks of 1986 Donruss. Of the 10, 2 had McGriff showing and one had Canseco. It was awesome.

Nice hits on the Gwynn and Boggs!
