    My guess is that this was hastily signed by Alan Menken. Take a look at his sig on Google images.

    many thanks for your replys. i dont have any more images sorry. my friend sent me this as a puzzle to solve as he couldnt get it. i used to work in a memorabilia store in dallas back in the day

    If it were me I'd get a list of all the nominees from that year and start guessing to narrow it down.

    For some reason, that just looks to me to possibly be part of an inscription, and not an actual signature.

    Possible "(unknown) w/ love"

    We really need to see a larger picture of the item, preferably the whole thing, to make any reasonable guess/determination.
