There's always going to be people that defend these practices, and say it's the buyers fault. I'll say one last thing and leave it at that. It's a sneaky trap, designed for profit at the buyer's expense. I hope anyone who sees this thread will know that if they are interested in buying anything from sportsmemorabilia.com, that it just might be listed on Ebay for a lot cheaper, so don't fall into the trap.
I thought you where going to say one last thing and leave it at that a couple of days ago?
Can someone point me to the cheapest gas station? We all know they use the same tankers with the same gas in them to fill their tanks, and charge different prices from station to station.

Nope. Those higher priced gas stations are setting traps solely to lure suckers in by strategically placing their pumps right near the exits of the interstate. How pissed do you think people would be when theyve paid $61 to fill up only to get down the road and see that they could have done it there for only $46?
I am just starting this thread to let people know how dishonest these gas station owners are being. Do you think they are gonna tell you where the cheapest gas is or to perhaps wait to fill up on a monday afternoon versus a saturday morning? Heck no. Just plain out dirty and disgusting in my book and anyone who thinks any differently is wrong. This is the last thing I am going to say about it for a solid minute or two.

If you're not doing your due diligence to find the cheapest price possible for ANY item you are going to purchase online (ie. private website vs. eBay vs. Amazon etc...), or in a brick and mortar setting (ie. Macy's vs. JC Penney etc...), then overpaying by $1 or $10,000 falls squarely on you, not the merchant.
Please stop debating it doubledragon, you couldn't be more wrong.
Due dilliegence? Who is going to think they can find the EXACT SAME PSA 9 Roberto Clemente card serial number and everything on another website for cheaper?
Apparently everybody else but you. And not saying that to be mean, just to be truthful because we already went over the scenario with 4sc.

I was done with this thread a couple of days ago, but you keep egging it on.
Blurryface, you're the one who bumped this thread yesterday evening, not me. And you want to compare gas station prices? Get real, we're not talking about a difference of $20 or $30 dollars. These people listed a card for $30,000 on their website that they know is listed on Ebay for $18,000. And yes, I'm warning people about it, so they know not to throw over $10,000 away. If you don't like it, then move on.

Whatever you need to tell yourself. But your little diatribe after saying that I’m egging it on speaks volumes. And this is after you said days ago that “that’s all I am going to say”.
Simple fact of the matter is you are wrong in labeling these folks as dishonest and you've used every negative adjective you can conjure up all while throwing out every similar scenario because its not convenient to your narrative or line of thinking. You've even been compared to a brick wall, yet just keep on going. Yet I am the one who is egging it on? Get real.
And sorry you bought a Joe Louis card from them a year ago and just now figuring it out that they carry the same inventory as ebay and you could have gotten it cheaper. That’s not our problem though, but thank you for your warning. We good now?

I'm sure their are people out their reading this thread who appreciate the information I'm giving them about not losing thousands of dollars, so to me it's worth telling them because not everyone knows that they can save a boatload of money by checking Ebay. I've already had a few people tell me they didn't know about this and that they appreciate the information so it's worth it. Besides, I was done with this thread until someone bumped it last night and wanted to debate some more. Look, the information is out there, and if it saves someone $2,000 or even $10,000 dollars, then it was worth it.
Who is going to buy on sportsmemorabilia.com and not check on ebay first ? raise your hands ....

As mentioned, sportsmemoribilia, com is part of Fanatics. I didn't know that they were also acting as a selling platform for third party sellers. I see that component as similar to seeing 4SC or comc stuff on Ebay. While I am sure they get a hefty commission, I would hazard to bet that the seller makes out significantly better if their item sells on sportsmemoribilia.com.
Any savvy collector or buyer knows how to comparison shop on the internet. People who buy the types of items you're upset about from them probably buy stuff from Dean's Cards, too.
That said, for autographed collectibles obtained through Fanatics (in the parent company sense), they are pretty damn good. I have gotten some really nice things from them as Xmas presents for my boys at incredible prices. You need to check the various offers across their platform (the league sites, Fanatics, FansEdge, and sportsmemoribilia.com) for the best deal. Also, if you have bought enough stuff, the will assign a sales representative to you.
For example over the last several years, I have gotten them autographed mini helmets with the player specific case (very nice with the back wall of the case a nice photo or collage of the player) of Alshon Jeffery, Fletcher Cox and Carson Wentz, including shipping, for $70, $90 and $145, respectively. I also got signed basketballs of Kareem and Embiid for prices better than I could find elsewhere with the added confidence that the items are real.
For the stuff they specialize in, they're hard to beat.
While not the perfect analogy, don't go to the hardware store to buy a loaf of bread.
Not to take one side or the other of the debate,
When I see a BIN of a wishlist item, I'll do a quick research to see if the seller has a private sale option instead of the feebay option.
Also try to understand market value of said item. That's just me
